ACHIEVEMENTS BY AAGAZ:- •Aagaz has provided counseling to the women in jails. •Counseling in Juvenile Cell •Various lectures on Women Rights, Human Rights and Child Rights in almost all the major educational institutes of Ludhiana (Punjab, India) Including:- a) Dayanand Medical College and Hospital b) Khalsa College for Women. c) Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College d) Kundan Vidya Mandir School e) Bharti Vidya Mandir. To make the women of the village self sufficient and a free embroidery training camp by Aagaz (9th Aug to 13th Aug 2004) and now the women of the village are actively involved in the work of hand embroidery and are earning. •Mahila Mandal was revived in this village. The already existing but poorly working pre schools and Salai Centre were provided training to the teachers to improve the quality and use the latest techniques in teaching. •Awareness programmes were organized on the rights of children and adults. •Talks on good parenting and group counselling was organized to keep the villagers keep their minds healthy. A socially active and government recognized and registered Non Government Organization of Punjab Aagaz Charitable Foundation received 17th Godfrey Phillips Bravery Award for its courageous activities this month. It is the Special Award introduced as ‘Social Act of Courage’ By Godfrey. The organization was shortlisted amongst the states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and Haryana. Preeti Kansal,General Secetary Aagaz,On the day of World Human Rights Day, Indian Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi organized 9th World Human Rights Congress in the capital, New Delhi on 10th December, 2007 was awarded Universal Human Rights promotional Award sponsored by Indian Institute of Human Rights.
