CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY AASTHA FOR THE BENEFITS OF ELDERLY AND TO GENERATE AWARENESS IN THE SOCIETY FOR THE CAUSE OF ELDERLY IFREE HEALTH CHECKUP CAMP FOR SENIOR CITIZENS OBJECTIVE To benefit the poor To develop health consciousness To generate practice in elderly for regular health checkup Mass screening checks complications at an early stage and prevents disability To reach the elderly in there own localities 12 Aug 2003 Aasthas representative meets the Honorable President of India Dr APJ Kalam during his visit to lucknow, on presidents invitation and submits the project report of Aastha 07 Sep 2003 Aastha Lunches Free Medical Plan for senior citizens Aastha Launches 21 point survey program for senior citizens to find out the exact problems and the need of an old man 26 Feb 2004 Free Health Checkup Camp was organized at Aastha Center for senior citizens and terminally ill patients under guidance of Prof Robert Twycross Oxford University Above 300 elderly undergone health checkup Medicine worth 17000 was distributed free with information materials on Diet Physical Exercise Blood Pressure and seminar on long term care of a bed ridden patient was organized for the caregivers 15 Apr 2004 Free Geriatric Medical Camp organized at NBRI National Botanical Research Institute for morning walkers from 5 morning to 8 Oclock where 220 elderly participated for health checkup Medicine worth 13000 was distributed free with information materials on health and diseases From 22 June to 26 June 2004 Five days Free Health Camp was organized at different location of the city Old Hanuman Mandir Gulab Vertika Swarn Jayanti Park Ambedkar Park and KD Singh Babu Stadium to benefit mass elderly 1300 elderly were investigated for their health related problems and free medicines worth Rs.35000 were distributed The elderly were screened for Diabetes Blood pressure ECG lung function testing and depression scoring was done 22 June 2004 Free Health Camp organized at Old Hanuman Mandir Aliganj from 5 am where 250 elderly were screened for Blood Pressure, Diabetes Obesity Cardiac Problem Spirometry etc 20 Aug 2004 Free Geriatric Health Camp was organized in association with Bhartiya Vharisht Nagarik Samiti at the center, which was inaugurated by then Lok Ayukt Justic SP Verma Dr. K.M. Singh and Swami Sampurna Nand Ji 470 elderly were visited the health camp for free health investigations and medicines worth Rs.17000 were distributed free 20 Aug 2006 Free health camp for morning walkers at NBRI, 300 elderly screened for there medical problems, onsite Uroflometry investigation was done free of cost, and medications worth 12000 were distributed free. (supporting as per Annexure paper cuttings) 26 Feb 2007 Seminar on Breast Cancer was organized at Aastha Center. Speakers on the occasion were Dr. Gaurav Agarwal, Professor of Endocrine Surgery, SGPGI. 22 women were screened free for breast cancer by mammography technique. Free consultation was given. (supporting as per Annexure paper cuttings) 10 Dec 2007 Aastha in association with Bhartiya Varisht Nagarik Samiti organized an immunization programme for elderly at Convention Center, Indira Nagar. Streptococol vaccination was given to elderly free.along with Mass screening camp & launcing a web site. Chief Guest on the occasion was Sri Jyotindra Mishra, Advocate General, UP, and Sri Vikram Singh, Director General, UP Police. Around 400 elderly were participated in the camp. Aastha also launched a website for the senior citizens. Medicines & Investigations worth 24,000/- were distributed free in camp. (supporting as per Annexure paper cuttings) II FREE HELPLINE SERVICE 24x7 FOR CITY ELDERLY 26 Feb 2004 Aastha launch 24 x 7 Free Medical Helpline 94150 15050 for senior citizens where they can get round the clock medical assistance and ambulance facility free of cost 365 days.
