In 1993, ADHAAR (Ass. For Development of Human Action & Rehabilitation had started its activities & services for welfare of children and women and community with the eminent guidance and support of professional team of Board of members. Our main objective is to develop the human action for proper rehabilitation for those who are in difficult circumstances. So, we are putting the effort to raise the Awareness level, socio - economic status and psychological development of the community children, adolescent girls, women and youth. Our vision is to cover the under privileged who are not reachable to basic and Essential services and motto is to aware, sensitization, educate and rehabilitate. In this concern, a team ADHAAR Executive Committee’s Members, Member Volunteers and Project Staff had extended full support & cooperation to make the programme activities successful. We also concern and want to give strong foundation to the community people of Weaker section of society: SC, ST & Backward classes in the field of Health, Education, Environment, Sustainable Development and Women Empowerment through people participation of the and collective initiative. Since inception, the organisation is working in those areas / basti where government or other organiastion are not able to give much attention or not able to provide basic needs. OUR EFFORTS: In our target areas, Adhaar has tried to provide welfare services e.g. Elementary Education( Special emphasis on Girl Child), Health care, Social & Legal protection and Economic Empowerment for those who are not get access to it and living in Slum / Unauthorized basti of East Delhi and also not catered by Govt. or Non govt. organizations. Keeping these circumstances in view, we have emphasized the community Participation through community organisation by involving children & women and youth and also to make them aware, educate and sensitize at large to small portion of the Target area. In Basti, we have Committee of Women, Children & Youth. 1. WOMEN DEVELOPEMNT AND EMPOWERMENT Adhaar’s main trust area is Women and Adolescent Girls welfare by providing or through linkage with other organizations e.g. Health, Education and Socio- Economic up-liftment. As we know that women are key factor in any family for care and well being its member. So, we have thought, plan, act and help them to empower both socially and economically. In this concern, we have conducted no. for programme for welfare of women: • Medical check up, Pre - Post natal care & Immunisation of Pregnant. • Health and Nutrition talks / sessions. • Formation of Mahila Mandal, Education Committee, Self Help Groups, Micro Credit and Mahila Punchayat, Vocational & Skill Development Training, Exposure visits & Networking with other Women Organisations: KARWAH, Action India, YWCA, DCW, NCW, MARG, UNIFEM, Lawyer Collective, GRC, ITI etc. • Family life Counselling and Legal Guidance and Assistance. • Vocational and Skill Development training and Guidance. VOCATIONAL/ INCOME Gen. TRAINING & GUIDENCE: More than 34 Group women and young girls take vocational Training Separate batches in GRC Training Center of cutting & Stitching, JUTE & PAPER Bags Making, Computer Learning and book biding for the purpose income generation and economically independent. The young students/ unemployed youth are also given vocation guidance to choose their career. 2. CHILD & ADOLESCENT WELFARE PRE School & PRIMARY Education: We believe that education is the tool towards societal empowerment. As part of our efforts to promote pre primary education, we are running 5 Creche - Balwari (Child Development Centers), 3 Bridge Course, 2 Remedial Education, 7 Learning Centers(UEE Mission) in New Ashok Nagar and Kondali Gharoli (Separa Basti), East Delhi and giving basic education to approx. 400 children.
