AIESEC Pune has since its inception as an AIESEC India Local Chapter in 1983 impacted the lives of hundreds of individuals by means of providing them with internships and leadership opportunities. Besides, AIESEC in Pune has also helped out companies, educational institutions and NGOs in the area by providing them with interns from foreign countries in the managemnt, educational and development fields respectively. This has helped such organizations in meeting their objectives/goals and also in furthering their respective causes. Interns who have come from abroad to work in Pune have been provided with an enriching work + cultural experience. Members work in the Local Committee on a totally voluntary basis and are responsible in not only getting students interested in going abroad for different kinds of internships but also in getting interns from abroad to work in different sectors. This they do by means of working in different projects and departments in the Local Committee itself. Members are also pushed to take up Leadership Positions in the organizations so as to enhance their skills and competencies. Also, AIESEC as an organization organizes a number of seminars, meetings and conferences for its members every year so as bring them up to date with problems the world is facing and to draw constructive conclusions on them. Members are also made to interact with external organizations so as to enhance their holistiv knowledge about different industries/NGOs and the likes in the surrounding environment. The wholesome motive of the organization is to impact as much of the youth as possible so as to increase their skills and competencies, provide them with a national and international network, provide them with practical knowledge and an access to national and international opportunities. The cultural barrier is broken by the organization by means of interaction between normal members, interns and trainees from different parts of the world. Our 107 country network more than helps us in breaking the cultural and information barrier that exists today, between different countries. AIESEC in Pune has till date impacted thousand of lives by means of internships, partnerships, leadership opportunities, membership as well as plain association with the organization and is a proud Local Chapter of AIESEC in India. Today, AIESEC in Pune is also looking at creating a chapter in Goa from scratch so as to hit out to more youth and provide them with the same enriching experience that their counterparts back are currently living.
