Major Activities and Achivements

Brief profile of Akhand Jyot Vision: - Akhand Jyot Foundation undertakes all its activities with a view to Create Healthy Families and encourages child welfare Mission: - Akhand Jyot Foundation will conduct all activities regarding Child and Women empowerment and welfare activities through Its different regularly conducted programs. Goals of the organization: - 1- Family Health Programs. 2 - Education- Vocational and Academic. 3- Development and Welfare. 4- Training, empowerment and Support programs. With a view to provide welfare services to needy children, adolescent girls, down-trodden women, Akhand Jyot, a Charity organization registered under Bombay Public Trust Act(1950), was founded by like- minded, socially oriented women under the leadership of Smt. Nirmal Patel and Frenny Gandhi in the year 1980. AJF launched several programs for empowerment of women and children. It extended its activities in rural as well as urban areas and expanded its work peripheries through projects supported by state and Central Govt. and private funds. Within a span of 25 years it has grown into a huge monolith humming with various socio-economic activities as well as rehabilitation and training programs. The Oraganization proudly entered into its Silver Jubilee Year (2005-06) expanding its horizons with fresh programs. Its Managing Trustee Smt. Nirmala Patel was honoured with the‘ literacy Award‘ 2005 for the services of Akhand Jyot in the field of eradication of illiteracy amongst Street Children. In fact all the pioneering with different State and national level awards. AJF has also started certain new training & income generating units for the economic empowerment of young girls and women. The social activities of AJF can be broadly divided into five namely: 1) Education 2) Health 3) Development and welfare 4) Training and empowerment 5) Support programs (Natural & Manmade Calamities)
