AchieveMents: Anchalik Grama Vikash Parishad, Nilgiri was formed on 12th May, 1984 in the meeting held at village Pundal in Nilgiri Block and registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on the auspicious day of 14th, November 1984. This organization has been working in Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts to ameliorate the socio-economic conditions of the unprivileged poor tribal, Harijana and other marginal and landless farmers. With some benevolent social activists having technical knowledge and experience on rural development, the organization was spontaneously formed by the people of the area to solve their acute problems.Few months earlier to the formation of the organization; in order to develop their own area, the founder members were organized a seminar and exhibition on Integrated Rural Development in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Balasore (Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology) and District Rural Development Agency, Balasore from the 13th to 15th March, 1984. About five hundred opinion leaders of the surrounding gram panchayats were participated in the programme. Different resolutions were taken in the seminar to develop the area and to implement the programme, there was a resolution to organise the various developmental programmes through a Voluntary Organisation and on the basis of: that Anchalilk Grama Vikash Parishad, Nilgiri Regional Village Development Council was formed as mentioned earlier.AGVP is being organised various socioìeconomic developmental programmes for increasing the per capita income of the individuals and simultaneously creating scientific temper among the local people. The activities of the organisation in different fields are mentioned hereinafter.
