Major Activities and Achivements

Registered in India , Asia Centre is a not –for –profit foundation whose primary goal is the promotion of mutual awareness among Asian communities through research, analyses and interactive events. While acknowledging the important role played by art, culture and civilization in shaping Asia as we see it today, the Centre lays stress on economics as the over riding factor that sustains long term relations. For this the necessary pre requisite, it has been felt, must be adequate mutual awareness. The Centre is therefore launching an extensive awareness programme involving civil society, the business community and academia. The programme envisaged in the centre’s mission statement seeks to initiate research on the ancient legacy of Asian cultures in an unbiased manner, encourage international exchanges and networking by individuals, groups and markets with a view to complementing official economic and cultural diplomacy and motivate the corporate sector to become generous with its patronage of events that deal with issues of pan Asian concern. The Centre recognizes the need for progressive removal of tariff and non tariff barriers in trade and investments to bring about speedy regional economic integration . Measures that would encourage tourism in general and cultural and heritage tourism in particular along with effective steps that would stimulate cross cultural interactions leading to better appreciation of each other’s art are a part of the Centre’s agenda.
