AWARENESS PROGRAM ON MUSLIM MINORITY WELFARE SCHEMES:- We have conducted this program in M.P.P. School for the benefit of Minority people. Four hundred women participated in this program. Z.P. CHAIRPERSON Mr. Suresh Babu, DISTRICT MINORITY WELFARE OFFICERS Mr. Mahaboob Khan, Mr. Sapthagiri, Mrs. Azra Parveen, MPL. COUNCELLOR, Mrs. Subadra Bai, Nursing Superintendent attends the program. Z.P. Chairman given suggestions to the women about welfare schemes, Mr. Mahaboob Khan explained the welfare schemes for the Muslims and Christians. RELIEF AND REHABILITATION FOR FLOOD VICTIMS: - Due to heavy floods occurred Kadapa District in the month of 16th October 2001 and the many of people lost their movable and immovable assets and lives also. Some thousands of families became as shelter less and crops were damage by the effect of floods. BCLDS provided food, drinking water, milk as well as medicine for diseases to the flood victims for 5 days more than 100 families has been survived under this programme. Mr. Suresh Babu, Z.P. Chairperson along with M.D.O. Mr. Subbi Reddy visited this shelter and appreciates our organization work. BLOOD DONATION CAMP: - BCLDS have participated blood donation camp 1st October 2003 which did the AIDS Control Society, Seven youth volunteers and chief functionary of BCLDS have donated blood on behalf of BCLDS. THE DISTRICT COLLECTOR, Velugu PROJECT DIRECTOR, Dist., coordinator, NEHRU YUVAK KENDRA, other distinguished persons participated in the programme. FORMATION OF CEMENT LINK ROAD: - BCLDS has formed cement link road in Chemmumiahpet village, Kadapa mandal with assistance of MANDAL PRAJA PARISHAD GRANTS (A.P. GOVERNMENT), Kadapa Mandal under food for work. Now the people were feeling comfortable. VITAMIN ‘A’ DISTRIBUTION: - The free eye camp for children organized by the BCLDS, diagnose the children with help of qualified eye specialist and distributed Vitamin-A capsules with the help of SIGHT AND LIFE, SWITZERLAND to control the eye diseases and blindness among children. More than 1000 children examined in three times and utilized this opportunity. Z.P. VICE-CHAIRMAN Mr. Ravindranatha Reddy inaugurated this program and explains how to prevent eye diseases. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, EYE SPECIALIST diagnoses the children with his staff. ADULT LITERACY PROGRAMME: - We are conducted Adult Literacy Programme (2003-04 =150 learners, and 2004-2006 = 300 learns in Anantapur District) in five villages of Kadapa Mandal and C.K. Dinne Mandal with financial assistance of SEVA BHARAT, SECUNDERABAD, A.P. INDIA. The purpose of the programme is eradicating of illiteracy and brings 100% literacy in target villages. More than 60% of the women are able to write their signatures and few of the women are able to read and write. Out of five centers (30 x 5 = 150) four centers literacy centers learners have started self-help groups opened joint account in the local banks and continuing the programme. This program inaugurated by local M.L.A. DR. KHALEEL BASHA. A.P. MAST, DFID, ACTION AID was conducted training programme on Participatory Poverty Assessment. The BCLDS Chief Functionary participated in the training program. Further, we have PPA in two urban slums of Kadapa Municipality.
