AchieveMents: Bihar Voluntary Health Association has been engaged in Community Health Promotion in Bihar through Voluntary Action since 1969. It is the oldest secular health network of India and is the largest NGO network in Bihar. It is federated with voluntary health association of India. During last 41 years of its establishment, it has carried out many health and development activities in each and every corner of Bihar with the help of its network member originations. It has been working with support of MOH&FW, GOI and Govt. of Bihar, national and international donor agencies, its network member organizations, VHAI and individual following major activities were carried out by BVHA till date as mentioned below: 1. Community health intervention through networking advocacy and support to voluntary organizations in the state of Bihar. 2. Reproductive and Child Health Awareness Project as MNGO. 3. Capacity Building Project of VOs on Community Health Management. 4. Diarrhea management in the slums of Patna district. 5. Support to gender issues programme 6. ISM&H (IEC) programme of MOH&FW, GOI. 7. Community radio programme on health and gender issues. 8. Tobacco awareness programme 9. Pluse polio search campaign 10. BVHA has helped Govt. of Bihar to carryout Massive Malaria Eradication programme in 6 districts of undivided Bihar.(presently in Jharkhand state) and as a result , death due to malaria came down to very minimum. BVHA also advocated continuously for proper implementation of activities by Govt. of Bihar under Tobacco Control programme and as result govt. of Bihar has formed State Tobacco Cell & initiated Tobacco Control activities in the State of Bihar. BVHA has saved thousands of thousands of lives at the time of disaster by providing timely medical services to the victims. With the continuous liaisoning & advocacy BVHA and its member organizations have become members of various govt. formed societies/boards where it takes active part in planning, strategy formulation and implementation part. ************************************
