CENTRE FOR RURAL EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT ACTION Major Activities and Achivements

Nearly 72,000 children withdrawn from all types of works, mainstreamed into education at primary level. Campaign against child labour was carried out in 5 child labour endemic districts. Projects for women, girl child and adolescents implemented with the help of MoR, GoI, UNDP and Canadian High Commission. Vocational and skill training to women. Training for capacity building of grassroots NGOs in U.P. Community health and health education projects implemented in three blocks. Awareness about NREGA and RTI among rural youths and working class. Evaluation of projects funded by Ministry of HRD, Deptt. of E.E. & L., Government of India. Our work on elimination of child labour and education has been quoted and referred nationally and internationally. Contribution in policy making and advisory committees: The organization was represented and contributed through its founder secretary as a member in the following policy making and advisory committees: Government of India: Sub-Groups or Working Groups of National Commission of Labour and Planning Commission, Central Child Labour Advisory Board, MoLE, GoI, Grant in Aid Committee for Innovative and Experimental Education Programme, Deptt. of E.E. & L., MHRD, GoI, State Government, U.P.: Member in Grant in Aid Committee, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Department of Education, Govt. of U.P., State Resource Group, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Directorate of L. & A.E., Govt. of U.P., Child Labour Advisory Committee, Govt. of U. P., State Alliance for the Elimination of Child Labour Society, Govt. of U. P. School Choice Campaign for education voucher to poor children in 14 district of U.P. with signature campaign of 13,00,000 people and reaching to nearly 10 million people through meetings, conference, rallies, marches, social mobilization. Government of India recommended our NGO for Dubai International Award for the Best Practices. International Diplomacy Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of India produced a documentary film (The Pathbreakers) focusing the Founder Secretary as crusader of child labour. Two national awards: National Role Model Award and Outlook Speakout Award.
