Dhubri Rural Science Society was organised on 25-07-2005 to develop the rural areas under Dhubri District of Assam. Since that day various social works were done in the field of various branches viz. 1. Science related activities on 28th February and on 11th May in every year National Science Day and National Technology are observed among the students of rural areas. Moreover in every year some numbers of students participates at National Children Science Congress. 2. Environment related activities - On 5th June and in the 1st Week of July every year, World Environment Day and Van-Mahotsava are observed in the rural areas to aware the people regarding environment and pollution control. During rainy season, every year sapplings are planted by the NGO. 3. Health related activities - In every year on 7th April World Health Day on 7th November Cancer Awareness Day and on 1st December World Aids Day are observed. Moreover, Free Blood Donation Camp and Free Medical Camp are also organised by the NGO. 4. Socio-economic related activities - Poultry and Duckery training, Fishery training, Horticulture training, Bamboo cultivation training for the development of educated unemployed youth of the rural areas are also organised by the NGO. 5. Education related - Now and then awareness programme on primary education for the children of rural areas are also organised by the NGO. On 15th August 2009, Dhubri Rural Science Society was awarded by the Govt. of Assam awarding Chief Ministers BEST COMMUNITY ACTION Award.
