AchieveMents: IASDS ranked 6 among regional level institutes, 5 among expertise and received highest score under item projects in an evaluation done by CSO of 289 agencies at National level for assesing survey capabilities of agencies. The institute aims at promotion of quantitative components in applied research relevant to development activities in national perpective for building up an overall welfare oriented strategy in entire socio-economic sector. The main functions of the institute are in the areas of in-service training, research projects and consultancy. The institute has leadership in specific areas like survey methodology and conducting large scale survey based studies including baseline, monitoring and evaluation, field experimentation, field experimentation and their analysis and quantitative methods including econometrics, perspective planning , projections and modeling. It has already acclaimed recognition by conducting studies in primary education, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, agriculture including land use, animal husbandry and rural development. It has provided substantial inputs in database needed in preparation of U.P. State Plan of action for Education for All. Some of the organizations for whom the institute has conducted projects/studies include UNICEF, CARE, WFP, MOST, A2Z, Intrahealth International- USAID, IRMS, NIMS, NFI, NAAS, SCERT, State AIDS control Society, ICMR, CSO, U.P. Export Corporation, Remote Sensing Applications Centre, ICAR, State Institute for Rural Development, Land Use Board, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperation,NBRI and a host of other organizations.
