AchieveMents: The Institute of Rural Management (IRM), Guwahati is an organization working in the field of decentralized planning, social mobilization, local administration, awareness generation, training on social justice, health and sanitation, education, environment, motivation for economic activities, etc. The IRM, Guwahati promotes activities related to socio-economic development of the rural as well as the urban poor, with special emphasis on farmers and women. The IRM Guwahati has also been taking up trainings under skill development for educated unemployed youth of the State of Assam so that they are able to take up income generating activities under various self- employment projects of the government. The IRM, Guwahati is also working in the development of the handloom and handicrafts sector in the State of Assam and is involved in the production and modernization of existing handloom and sericulture activities as well as marketing of products. The IRM, Guwahati is also involved in several research studies, monitoring and evaluation studies of various employment oriented schemes of the state goverment.
