NBJK has tried to make the educational facilities available in the remote areas through :
1. High school for girls who otherwise leave school after class 5th in lack of such facility within their easy reach. (5 High Schools)
2. Running 20 day- bridge-camp schools for non-school going children
3. 9 Primary schools for rag-pickers and child labors in Patna Slums
4. Two primary schools in Chouparan block
5. Community based Special school for Mentally Retarded and children with Cerebral Palsy
6. Lord Budha home for Orphan children
7. 100 Remedial Coaching Centers in 3 blocks of Hazaribag district
B. Mass Awareness and Social Action Programme:
Lok Samiti: Lok Samiti is the platform for the people to organize & raise their voice. It takes up several issues, such as -
1. Putting grievances of people in front of concerned authorities.
2. Drawing govt. attention for proper implementation of developmental schemes.
3. Influencing the policy makers to make it pro-poor.
4. Pressurizing the concerned authorities for transparency.
5. Demanding equal status for women.
6. Fighting against atrocities on women and dalits.
7. Family Counseling Center-to resolve family disputes.
8. Panchayat election and promotion of women candidate
C. Socio economic Program:
The program aims at economic growth & self-reliance. Specific objectives of the program are:
1. To create self-employment through income generating projects and agriculture development.
2. To reduce the dependency on local moneylenders or other middlemen for credit.
3. To stop land, asset mortgage, advance crop selling & other income eroding processes.
4. To generate business capital in the long run in order to attain self-sustainability.
5. To reduce women discrimination & increase their dignity in the society in the long run.
6. To provide jobs and self-employment to youths
D. Health
Health services are the prime need of every people next to food. But it is a factual statement that health facilities are still a distant dream for rural poor. There is severe problem of health services and the villagers are the ultimate sufferer. In order to cater to community health needs, NBJK serves with many comprehensive health packages:
1. Rachna Program (Integrated Nutrition & Health Program including awareness and prevention on HIV/AIDs and STD/RTI.
2. Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program for persons with disability, inclusive education and Community Mental Health Program.
3. Reproductive health education and convergence of services program with awareness and safe behavior against HIV/AIDS/STD/RTI including Adolescent Sexual and & Reproductive Health
4. Life Cycle Approach program for Mother and Child
5. Primary Health Services through rural health camps
6. Hygiene & Sanitation, and Solid Waste Management Program with 70,000HH
7. Loknayak Jaiprakash Eye hospitals at Chouparan, Hazaribag and Dumka for providing eye care services
8. Policy advocacy to curb Female feticide and for universalization of birth registration
