AchieveMents: A society based on, Education for North eastern Youth, legitimate rights, equity, justice, honesty, social responsibility and a culture of service in which all are self-reliant. The new millennium has changed the prospective of North Eastern Society for Human Development like globalization and the Society started picking up different activities like vocational Training, weaving and cane training and Bamboo Crafts training. Thus as a journey with new globe, the Society had organized so many Social activity like Road Safety Programmed, National Science Day, Flood Relief, Health Camp, Environment Day, Handicraft Training etc. Various Govt. Departments cooperated to make this activity successful one and awareness on crop strong, protection were seen among the villagers. In search of right path many of our youths go to the other states and pay a handsome amount as a capitation fee. So we introduced the “Institute of Technology and Management “to save the capitation with the minimum fee. Vocational / Educational Training. The “Institute of Technology and Management Centre at Guwahati, supported by North eastern society for human development continued to recruit and train youth in various market oriented trades – Computer Hardware/Software, Electrical. A/C & Refrigeration, Dress Designing and Beauty Culture. 125 new admissions happened through out the year. Apart from the trainings, value additions through English Speaking classes, Life Skill Training, Updating of curriculum also happened through the year. For recruitments/admissions, large scale drives were undertaken around the neighborhood Government Schools, Residents Welfare Associations, Market Places as well as distant locations like Zoo Road Tiniali, Guwahati. Institute of Technology and Management centre running at other project locations-kokrajha, Chaygaon, Nalbari, Nagaon , Kharupetia and Jagirod have coached a large number of young adults and equipped them with crucial technical skills. The units are run on the Social Entrepreneurship Model. Instructors are recruited from the community and a nominal fee for services rendered is charged. NESHD believes that the concurrent development of preventive and promotive health is crucial to the well -being of those who are unable to afford regular health care. With this in mind, NESHD plays a crucial role in providing health-care facilities, developing health seeking behaviour and strengthening the existing health delivering mechanisms amongst the target communities August 2010, the Society Organized an Aids Awareness Programmed for rural artisans and organized a free health check up and medicine distribution camp for the local people where doctors from local PHC participated and examined the patients. Nearly 1000 people got benefited from the Camp.
