PHOOLEEN MAHILA CHETNA VIKAS KENDRA Key Issues and Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements

Operational Districts: Deoghar

Operational States: JHARKHAND

AchieveMents: The Genesis: Late Mr. Binoy Kumar singh who was retired Sergeant from Indian Air force struggling with the hilly, and barren land provided by the govt. and trying his best to bring that into agric able and cultivable. During that time he and his wife Late Mrs. Janki singh were also initiated social work for the betterment of the under privilege classes in the area especially the women and children. His strenuous toil transformed the barren land to a fertile one. He taught the people how to cultivate crops by using the technique of biological farming. He was a great environmentalist and social activist. He started the Chipko Movement against the contractors and saved the forest of Chechali and Jitpur. By his effort, the awareness among the people to save the environment got a new dimension. He was not merely a farmer but also an architect who contributed towards the moral development of human being. People had great respect for him. We built well knit village organizations in 50 Villages of our working area. Each village is a unit, its people decide to work to resolve their basic need. The work is done by all for all as partners and organized as cadres to fulfil different functions of the whole. There is no discrimination based on gender, caste or wealth. It is true that there may be different levels of involvements: but the underlying spirit is that all are partners, and so one is a subordinate of another. Also, nothing great can be achieved without volunteers who are committed to regular participation and are properly organized. Individuals working in isolation are not enough to build a well knit village organization. Due to the functional structure and regular community based actions. We have archived the following i.e. Elimination of intoxication, Reduction in Domestic Violence on women, Reduction in Communal caste based discrimination, Reduction in Dowry and Divorce, Built an pro active environment for women and hiding girls to enjoy dignified modern life, Enhanced Leadership capacity to access the services, Created opportunities for the early school leaver youth to regain vocational skills to live with job to accelerate their quality of life.
