AchieveMents: RCDC started its journey with the mandate to empower local communities to manage their own natural resources efficiently & effectively for addressing poverty and improving the quality of life. Currently it is working in the areas of Policy and Action Research, Advocacy and Networking, and Field Demonstration, Interventions relating to community based natural resource management and livelihood enhancement. MAIN PROGRAMME AREAS OF RCDC: 1. Research, Advocacy and Campaign on Natural Resource Management. Policy research and advocacy for ge forest protecting and managing communities to own, control and manage forest and its products, land resource management, land alienation & entitlement issues, water resource management, and water use conflicts Strengthening the capacity of forest protecting communities to establish sustainable forest management models and practices. Monitoring & strengthening of participatory forest management initiatives of the government and other agencies. Institution building and networking on forestry and development issues. Research, documentation and advocacy on entitlement over forestland. Independent monitoring and strengthening of implementation of different land entitlement programmes and schemes.
