AchieveMents: Rehab foundation is a registered voluntary organization under Indian societiesRegistration Act xx1 of 1860 No 10116/91 dated 4th December 1991 as a registered charitable society with an objective of moral educational and vocational upliftment of the poor handicapped persons in the society.For the attainment of these goals,the foundation has maintaining special school namely Good Hope School for the Mentally Handicapped.The foundation has completed its 18th year of service In the year 2009 with a proud welfare activities for the handicapped. During the year under report the foundation has made a commendable progress in the area of education and rehabilitation service to those who need special care and attention.The foundation has organized Identification camps at various panchayaths and municipalities in the district,to find out the disabled pupils and make necessary steps to rehabilitate them.Awareness classess in the form of seminars symposium etc. Which are aimed at the parents of the disabled children. Survey also conducted to reach out the children from their environment. The special schools for the Mentally Handicapped,started functioning in the year 1991.It was humble beginning with 3 mentally retarded children. At present at the school provides educational service at 4 stages viz,pre-primary,primary,secondary and vocational level at the school and admit, the children under age group of 5to18 years.At persent there are 60 children studying at school Amoungthem 25 children are hostel inmates. The school curriculum emphasized on functional Academic, developing self help skills,pre-vocational skill and co-curricular activities such as vocal music, dance,art,sports and games etc are included in the course of studies. From the last three years Rehab Foundation is the District Local Level Commettee member of National Trust at Malappuram.
