AchieveMents: The Sangeet Kala Sangam is a cultural institution set up by a group of artistes of different bachground of Dance,Music, Theatre and Martial Arts with a view to undertake various activities for promotion of art & culture with its objects 1. to propogate and spread the knowledge of Manipuri art and culture in its pristine purity specially in dance, drama and music among the people of Manipur and other states of India. 2. to preserve the secred treasur of Manipuri art and culture. 3. to do continous reserch work in all dpartment of Manipuri culture 4. to revive and preserve folk music/dance/folk drama 5. to forster cultural contracts between hills and palin of Manipur and also with other states of India in the fields od dance, music and drama etc. Since inception the Sangeet Kala Sangam produced many folk and classical dance productions during the decades. Some important dance may be mentioned as Fungarel, Hiri Konba, Nongpok Wanglen Khongdarol, Loyalakpa Kumdamlon, Chakpa Haraoba Dance( a research product), Basanta Rash(a classical based on Lord Krishna) etc.. Till now this institution has pariticipated many dance / drama competition organised by the Government Organisation and Non Government organisation throughout the country and won prizes. It has been giving many cultural programmes performance throughout the country like in the India International Trade Fair, Pragadi Maidan New Delhi for Manipur State Day organised by the Government of Manipur.Above and all, it gives its dance and drama production as its own and also in the DDK,Guwahati & Imphal periodically as part of its development of art and culture and preservation of cultural Heritage.
