AchieveMents: Shroffs Foundation Trust was instituted in 1980 as a result of philanthropic endeavor of Shroff family, leading industrialists from Gujarat. The trust has been actively working in tribal area of Chhota Udepur since 1995 and has implemented various developmental programs related to water and soil conservation, agriculture improvement, health, education, literacy, handicraft development, animal husbandry and various income generation activities in about 1058 villages in Vadodara district and Banni area in Kutch district in Gujarat To achieve its goal of providing self-supporting development benefits in the tribal area, the trust operates out of four centers, Rangpur and Pavijetpur in Chhota Udepur, Ekalbara in Padra in Vadodara district and Banni in Kutch district of Gujarat with its head quarters at Kalali, Vadodara. The trust also believes in institution building and cooperative development. 24 bedded Ramkrishna Paramhans Hospital at Kalali offers quality health services at affordable rate to poor and needy patients since 2004. Sanjeevani Dialysis Unit set up in 2009 with 4 Hemo-Dialysis machines offer dialysis at half the regular rate. Equipped with modern equipment, pathology laboratory, physiotherapy unit, a pharmacy, RKPH treats about 7,000 patients a year through specialists in various fields. Swami Vivekanand Krushi Seva Kendra established to cater to the needs of the farmers, provides technology, guidance and material inputs and supports them on day to day bases through helpline. The objective is to help farmers reduce the agro input cost and aim for higher yield and better quality output, strengthening market linkages to fetch better rates for their products. Since its inception in 1998, so far it has helped about 11,000 farmers. Vivekanand Institute for Self Help founded in 2003 has been training cross section of the society, especially those belonging to rural areas. It functions with the view to build capacities of all the stake holders to maximize the benefits of developmental projects undertaken, by GO/NGOs. So far it has trained about 10,000 people through about 400 training programs in various areas. Shroffs Foundation Trust (SFT) through its various health related projects like HIV, AIDS awareness has reached out to about 1,40,000 youth. It conducted District Situational Analysis in 128 villages of 13 blocks in Vadodara district to identify hot spot villages. Through RCH II program it has reached out to people of about 50 villages covering population of 37,000. SFT imparted capacity building training to 3400 women belonging to Matru Mandals at Anganwadi level in Kutch district. Under Literacy Campaign initiated in 2006, it has so far trained 4050 women. Under various Livelihood Security programs, 2784 women and 72 youth have been trained. Shardadevi Gramudhyog Co-op Society an outcome of SGSY project and Vivekanand Gobar Bank Co-op Society are the typical examples of cooperative movement for income generation.71 families have been provided cooking gas through Bio-gas plant. Safe drinking water has been provided in 147 villages and Water and Sanitation Management programs have been implemented in 61 villages. Rooftop rainwater harvesting was done in 20 schools in Kutch district. Year after year the trust is gaining new grounds through expansion of its infrastructure, covering new areas geographically and introducing much needed services to reach out to more and more people.
