AchieveMents: The foundation for SaMaPa was laid in the year 2005 with its focus on Delhi and the J&K State. SaMaPa is more than an academy and is a cultural movement and is acclaimed as a “Cultural Bridge” of J&K and rest of the country highlighting the concept of oneness and foster unity enshrining the idea of national integration, humanism and peace amongst the common man and the youth in particular. SaMaPa, under the aegis of its Chairman, the Music Legend Pandit Bhajan Sopori, has become one of the premier organizations in the musical scenario of the country being recognized on a Global level in the field of Music and Culture. SaMaPa, for its dedicated efforts to bring music to the masses – Jan Jan Tak Sangeet, has been awarded the ‘J&K Dogri Award, 2008’ by H.E. the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and has also received ‘The RX Club Award of Excellence, 2009’. SaMaPa is credited to have brought a Cultural Revolution and to have created a new generation of music connoisseurs. SaMaPa has presented various pioneering & path breaking festivals, programmes & productions in the last 6 years and has various firsts to its credit. Some of the prestigious festivals organized by SaMaPa include ‘SaMaPa Sangeet Sammelan’, the topmost festival of Delhi & one of the most prestigious festivals of the country, ‘SaMaPa Aalap Festival’, one of the biggest music festival of the country, ‘SaMaPa Sangeet Vibhuti Festival’, the exclusive festival of the country dedicated to the doyens / legends of Indian music, and many more. SaMaPa has the credit of marking the beginning of a new cultural era in Kashmir after years of disturbance creating a musically healing environment and opportunity for the youth to divert in positive direction. SaMaPa has also conducted the first and major programmes for children from Slum areas, etc. SaMaPa has also introduced the concept of common song promoting peace, harmony and brotherhood through it audio and video releases. SaMaPa presents the exclusive Folk Music Ensembles and orchestras of the country uniting the musicians of different parts of the country. SaMaPa also presented the first ever Sufi Ensemble of the country creating a new style of Sufi music presentation.
