AchieveMents: Sursagar Society of Delhi Gharana Sursagar Society was founded in 1940 by the late Ustad Chand Khan Sahab/Saheb (Sangeet Martand) in the memory of his father Shams-e-Mousiqui Ustad Mamman Khan. The society aims to conserve and promote an awareness of both the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry through focus on the classical arts, with their attendant legends, rituals, mythology and philosophy and the deeper and subtler values of these arts. Sursagar Society of Delhi Gharana’s successful holding of the music festivals for more than 60 years has enhanced its prestige in the eyes of the public. The society has been organizing concerts in Delhi, Kolkata and Ranchi, and honoring outstanding artists with the objective of developing more interest in Indian Classical Music. The society also runs the Amir Khusro Institute of Music where free training is being provided to all those interested in any art form of Indian Classical Music. Since 1986(,) the society has been giving Ustad Chand Khan Awards to renowned artists for their outstanding contribution in the Art and Culture. Pt. Dilip Chandra Vedi, Ustad Nisar Hussain Khan, Ustad Abdul Haleem Jaffar Khan Sahab, Smt Sumati Mutatkar, Pt. Siyaram Tiwari, Ustad Asad Ali Khan, Pt. debu chaudhri, , Pt. L.K. Pandit, Ustad Sabri Khan, Ustad Fayyaz Khan, Pt. Jitendra Pratap, Pt. Sunil Mukherjee, Pt. Arvind Parekh, Maharaj Krishan Kumar, Ustad Rahim Fahimuddin Dagar, Pt. Buddhadev Das Gupta, Dr. Shankar Lal Mishra, Guru Hare Krishna Behra are some of the renowned winners of the awards. In the past, great maestros like Smt Sitara Devi, Pt. Jasraj, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Ustad Sultan Khan, Ustad Abdul Haleem Jaffar Khan, Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Pt.
