Swift Foundation Key Issues and
Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements
AchieveMents: BRIEF ACTIVITY REPORT AND THEIR IMPACT
Swift Foundation Nowgam Bypass Sinagar has been very actively pursuing its objectives since their foundation day. As regards the activities carried out in so far we have been able to do following works and programs even with very limited resources
1. Awareness camps General awareness camps regarding health education and environment at various places especially picnic resorts are a part and parcel of our activities. We have carried out such awareness campaigns at various tourist locations-Kokarnag Achabal Tangmarg Phalgam in the year 2010 and 2011. During these campaigns we distributed printed literature regarding environmental protection among the tourists.
IMPACT As it is well understood that awareness generation is an abstract activity and the results cannot be presented in a tangible form. However we have found many volunteers during this campaign who are now constantly in touch with us and they are committed to repeat these campaigns every summer in their areas which are visited by huge rush of people in summers. They organize school children for cleanliness diversion the days (Friday) when these places are closed for visitors.
2. Gift distribution Gift packs containing personal care items like soaps tooth pastes brushes and toys were distributed among the poor and underprivileged school children through out the districts of Srinagar Budgam Pulwama and Anantnag. Gifts were also given to some children employed as child labors at various places. Such children were also encouraged to attend the schools. Chief education officers of the respective districts were involved as chief guests at these events. Last but not least state Governor ââ¬Ëhis Excellency Mr. S.K. Sinha served as chief guest on one such campaigned in 2011.
