AchieveMents: “Ashirwad” (The North India Cerebral Palsy Association) is a rehabilitation center cum school for cerebral palsy affected children. It is the only institution of its kind, catering to the need to Spastic Children in whole of north India, beyond Delhi. The center is having over 500 children registered with it, who are being looked after by specialized staff such as Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Physiotherapist, and Special Educator Etc. To provide all these services under one roof.Children of Ashirwad are getting these services regularly. Provision of orthotic aids and appliance. Parent training and home based program for children from out-station Awareness arising workshop for parents’ teachers and doctors. Goal To achieve full inclusion of person with Disabilities into Main Steam Objectives 1) To work for the rehabilitation – physical, education, vocational, ADL training to children with disabilities and multiple disabilities. a) To provide intensive early intervention services – to minimize the erect of disabilities and to prevent secondary disabilities. b) To provide a special education services – to children who cannot cope up with normal education system. c) To provide pre-vocational and vocational guidance and training to prepare young adults with disabilities to adopt some vocation. 2) For the betterment of Society – a) To make accessibility a possibility – removal of all physical barriers. b) Promoting inclusive education in normal school. c) Making parents and families aware about concessions and benefits available for their child with disabilities. d) To help and support parents and families to overcome stress of rearing a child with disabilities. e) To spread rehabilitation services for children with disabilities in rural areas and slums. f) Advocacy g) Breaking Barriers District Level Republic Day function was celebrated at Govt. College for Boys. the NGO working for disability sector- Ashirwad, took part in the cultural programme to showcase the abilities of person with disabilities. Ashirwad has provided this opportunity first time to children with disabilities to participate in the official District Level Republic Day function.
