AchieveMents: AMYAA The Alombro Mayu Yaku Chi Amey Aroga (AMYAA), Society for social transformation was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 on June 28 2002 with its head office at Mayu-II, Roing of Lower Dibang Valley District. On 17th November 2009 the Head Office was shifted from Roing to Namphai-I, Miao of Changlang District. This shifting of Head Office was done on ground of feasibility in reaching out to the needy and the poor in remote rural villages. This society was established with the vision to combat poverty, illiteracy, ill health, corruption, injustice and suppression of the poor. The society focuses at working for the all round development of the tribal communities. It aims at supporting the backward tribal communities to become self-sustainable and self-reliant. Vision AMYAA envisages a society where everyone co-exists in mutual respect and understanding and strive for justice, peace and love. Mission AMYAA is to work for the all round development of the tribal poor with special attention towards the most vulnerable groups of the society, children, youth and women. It follows Right-based Approach in promoting developmental changes through creating awareness, capacity building, and training and to establish a self-sustainable and self-reliant society in Arunachal Pradesh. Location AMYAA is located in the scenic beauty of Namphai-I, with swift flowing breath taking scene of Dehing River as its background. There is greenery and a sight to cherish nature surrounding the Office. Office Set Up The office is well furnished with computer and other electronic equipments for documentation and processing of project related activities. MAJOR ACTIVITIES 1) Training cum Production Centre (Handloom and Handicrafts) Aim: To promote traditional attires To promote traditional art To train local artisans To train and help the village youth (illiterate & educated unemployed youth) to develop their skills and to become self-employable and employable To provide employment in the centre To improve the economic standards of their families To raise the economy of the society To reduce the number of youth getting addicted to anti-social activities Activities Undertaken: Handloom Traditional Handloom - Mekhela set, traditional shawl, traditional coat, traditional turban. Activities Undertaken: Handicrafts Making of various items such as kitchen utensils, dry flowers, statues of state animal & bird, traditional statues, decorative articles etc 2) Youth (educated unemployed youth) Skill Development Programme (SDP) & Rural Entrepreneurship Development Programme (REDP) for educated unemployed youth Career guidance & counseling Capacity Building & Training on various trade skills Exposure 3) Livelihood SHG formation Farmer Club formation Promotion of Traditional Handloom & Handicrafts Income Generation Activities REDP & SDP for Women groups Capacity Building for staff on live stock management Exposure 4) Health Village level awareness program Animation for village women & youth on health related topics Medical camp once in six months Work in collaboration with Govt. heath centres Capacity Building for staff on health related issues 5) Education Village level awareness programme on the importance of education Counseling cum Career guidance programme for higher class students Seminar/workshop for students and teachers Training on Computer Skills ACHIEVEMENTS Reaching out to more than 1500 educated unemployed youth of the State within a span of 4 months through SDP programmes. Formation of Self Help Groups to empower rural women in economic development ventures. Formation of Farmers Club to help and support 300 farmers in agri-related activities with the application of modern science and technologies. Awareness programme in legal aid and importance of education in rural areas. Awareness programme in health related issues and helping the poor through free medical camps. Generating employment for unemployed educated youth by setting up of handloom and handicrafts units.
