ama adh!kar, is a progressive and pioneer civil society organization of the State committed to improve the quality of life of magnetized section in Odisha. We are undertaking various philanthropic activities in the state in collaboration with various organizations. Out of many focus areas, protection of human rights and dignity; protection of child rights and womens rights, advocacy for PESA, RTI, RTE, FRA and Right to public services, care and protection of persons with disabilities (PWD), health and sanitation, study and research on various fields, capacity building programme, sustainable livelihood and community development, awareness campaigns are major thrust areas of the organization. Being the implementing NGO, ama adhikar has been executing various government projects for development of different stakeholders in the State of Odisha. ama adhikar has made extensive training programmes on Right to Information (RTI) for the representatives from civil society organization, NGO, media, government official etc, documentation and dissemination of best practices and case studies in the State, advocacy workshops and seminars, audit of proactive disclosure, audit of service delivery and RTI, multi stakeholder workshops and information audit as a part of the UNDP DoPT sponsored project on Capacity Building for Access to Information during 2007-09. Similarly, ama adhikar has also constantly rendering free residential schooling to differently able children since 2009 at Jaraka, Jajpur district under its mission project of school known as ROSE (Residence of Secured Existence) School of Differently Able at Jaraka, Jajpur (A Mission of Ama Adhikar). More than 52 Mental Retardation (MR) children of nearby villages are getting free residential schooling and fooding. Teacher and staff of the school are taking the full care of these children for their all round development in single campus. Other co-curricular activities are also undertaken by the school of ROSE. In the field of sustainable livelihood, we are ensuring sustainable livelihood opportunity for the population belonging to scheduled caste category in 300 households in two panchayats of Harbhanga block of Boudh district of Odisha in 2014. This apart, we are identified as Consulting/Lead NGO for conducting stakeholder workshops and meetings, surveys required for preparation of Slum Free City Plan of Action (SFCPoA), preparation of a City Profile, review of existing policies and programmes related to slum improvement and housing, preparation of a municipal information base for all slums, categorization of slums based on tenability analysis, formulation of slum intervention strategies and detail project report (DPR) under Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) at Sambalpur Municipality, Odisha.
