Major Activities and Achivements

Since ASHA founded in 1988 it has been mobilizing, motivating, inspiring, organized & articulating the women, youth, rural poor, BPL, SC & ST, dalit & other vulnerable people by generating critical awareness among them in 226 villages where 448 SHGs promoted, 9SHGs Federation, 126 youth group are emerging in an organized and coordinated manner & addressing the issues affecting them & accelerating the poverty alleviation initiatives in cooperation with Govt., PRI, NGO & other stakeholders. ASHA has organized 8876 poor families being the member of 448 SHGs formed 9 federations activated 25 child club, 30 adolescent forum, 52 farmers group, 132 village development committees has been promoted and involved community development activities, 840 community leaders, 500 farmers, 160 TBAs, 78 community health worker are trained by the ASHA, 448 SHGs have jointed bank account having Rs.88,92,620/- with them, in the villages 330 food grain security bank established with 12,250 qntl paddy for their own use, 178 SHGs are linked to banks for loan & IGP activates, 2291 families taken up vegetable cultivation, 435 women & poor family running small business, 53 pond irrigation created , 53 pumps set provided to farmers group for irrigation, 645 families provide with mother goat, 1230 families provided with backyard poultry family, 36 SHGs groups taken up fish cultivation, 1821 families how started fruit tree plantation, 72 community houses are constructed for community use, draught intervention in 42 villages taken up, running one Short Stay Home for 30 distress women, 1030 children sponsored for their education & health, 43 medicine centre set in villages, 1520 household mother oriented on ANC, PFC, Health hygiene & Sanitation, RCH programme in 53 villages, 1300 mosquito nets provided to tribal & poor families, 146 health check up camps in rural villages, 6230 children are immunized, 820 self child delivery made, 146 TBA kits provided, improved villages environmental sanitation in 192 villages, 36 Tube well installed for drinking water, popularizing family planning mother & child health, has taken up primary education in 53 rural & tribal villages for 3335 children running 25 early child hood development centers, 18 special coaching center in tribal villages, 7 bridge school, 40 SHGs literacy, 1240 child labor are enrolled in primary education, women literacy in 187 SHGs groups, forest protection made in 137 villages, generating awareness on NRM in tribal areas has taken up gender issue, trafficking, dowry, generating awareness to control alcohol, set 1 help line for women, training PRI members and community leader on governance, have initiated joint action on land water forest, wage price, exploitation etc. Building alliance with Govt. PRI, NGO & other stake holders, disseminating various Govt. scheme information to villagers & tribals & linking them line Depts. MAJOR ACTIVITIES: - CBO promotion in rural & tribal areas, leadership promotion & capacity building training for women, youth, tribal & rural poor, house hold livelihood initiatives, community health sanitation, drinking water, primary education in rural & tribal area, taking up gender & governance issues, migration, activating NREGA, linking BPL, women, SC & ST, to Govt. social & economic schemes, interfacing Govt. NGO & PRI community, building net work alliance & synergy among the community development stake holders for the popularization of Govt. poverty allegation schemes in rural & tribal areas.
