Major Activities and Achivements

Ramkrishna Sarada Vivekananada Sangha at Balsi, Bankura, and WB had been established in 28 May 1999 by some good Samaritans in village Balsi, Bankura. The founding members collected donations from individuals to build a small place of worship / prayer on a land donated by a founding member. Soon after the temple is made the org. started working towards helping some less-fortunate poor and needy people who need support desperately. Some of them are even physically / mentally challenged. This organization follows meticulous accounting procedure which is mandatory as to be affiliated to Sarvik Vivekananda Gram Seva Sanstha which in turn works in close association with Ramkrishna Math and Mission, Belur Math. The organization is affiliated to Ramkrishna Vivekananda Bhav Prachar Parishad .The org has also affiliation to Nehru Yuva Kendra, Bankura This is self sustaining organisation and manages through donations received from individuals. Apart of daily worship and prayer, the other activities undertaken by the org so far 1. Running the school from Nursery 1 to Class IV; total students ~ 120. There are 6 class rooms furnished with black board and electric fans. The fees collected from students are paid to the teachers. Nine unemployed bright sincere young graduates from same village are given oppoutunity to prove their ability to pursue their carrier as teacher. Every year, there are a few students ( around 5 ) passing out from Class VI writes entrance exam successfully to get admission to reputed schools run by Ramkrishna Mission- Belur. 2. One charitable dispensary ( weekly twice homeopathic and twice allopathic).On average 50 patients are treated everyday on nominal charges of Rs. 2 per patient to take care of reimbursement of transportation charges of doc. Free Homeopathic medicines are given to the patients. Sample allopathic medicines are collected from doctors to provide free medicines to patients. The organization also provides financial help to the poor patients to get major medical treated from city hospitals in case of medical emergencies. 3. One vetenary medical officer offers free service twice every week. This is a great help to villagers to get treatment for ailing cattle / dairy animals and live stocks like chicken etc 4. Work shop/ vocational training for skill development like pump set repair, making jam and jelly, honey making, making of incense sticks, training on fisheries, improvement in farming produce, soil tests etc. The affiliating Org Mission sends the technical experts and machines for training etc without charging any fees. The workshop is arranged at least twice in a year and this is happening since last 9 years. At least 50 unemployed youth had been benefited to earn their livelihood every year. 5. Sunday lunch food to some targeted 20 physically challenged and poor people. It is planned to include all festival days from 2011. 6. Provide clothes( around 30 to poor and old people every year 7. Self sustaining Micro finance scheme (Seed money INR 40,000 already arranged) to enable some 5-8 people to earn their livelihood (tailoring, live stock, or any other (likely to start this May-2011).To keep meticulous record all transactions to be made through Bank cheque / transaction 8. Monetary help to some 10 meritorious students from very poor family to continue the education - On the condition that they would do the same for 5 students when are established ( planed to start this May 2011 ).
