Major Activities and Achivements

Beluni Janakalyan Sangha has own land measuring 38.20 acres and two giant buildings. Its achievements in the sphere of social welfare since 1984 are briefed here. A health care centre to give medicine and treatment assistance free of cost to the local people. Programme of running a Model Promary School and a Junior High School where the inmates of Beluni Destitute Home or Cottage Home get free education. Programme of Destitute Home or Cottage Home for boys. There are more than 300 inmates in the home who are imparted education,food,shelter,clothing etc.The Govt.of West Bengal has affiliated the home and provides necessary grant-in-aids. Under creche scheme of the Central Social Welfare Board, Govt. of India 25 units creches are run by this organisation. Children of age group of 6 months to 5 years are provided with non-formal education and nutritious food in this creches. No. of beneficiaries is 625.There are a good number brick fields in this area where a huge number of women work. Keeping their children in these creches. so creche programmes is very important in this area. Family Counselling Centre is being run with assistance of Central Social welfare Board. Domestic disputes are settled amicably in this centre. Safe-motherhood and child survival programmer was run during the period from 1991 to 2005. This organisation has been running twelve child education centres in the name and sacred namely of the Great Mother Teresa since 1996. Nutritious food along with Primary education is provided to the children of age group 5 - 9 years. Food for Community Development Programme was conducted in collaboration with CASA (since 1995 - 2007. Disaster relief programme to give help of food,garments, utensils,quilts,house repairing to the victims in collaboration with CASA. With the assistance of CAPART, programmes namely Indira Awas Yozona and Rural Water Supply have been run for more than 5 years. In collaboration with CAPART this organisation runs Disability Welfare Programme from August 2008 to July 2010. With the assistance of Water Aid London programme like Rural Sanitation, Hygiene Education Camp and Drinking water supply Tube-well have been run during the period of 1994 - 1996. Women economic empowerment namely SWAWLAMBA is being run from December 2008 with the financial assistance of West Bengal Women Development undertaking under the administrative control of the State Government.
