Kolkata Institute of Advance Studies and Community Research (KIASCR) is dedicated to improve the living conditions for under-privileged communities in the rural areas of West Bengal through sustainable livelihood strategies. KIASCR has unique approaches to sustainable development in rural villages through the Livelihood Assistance Program, the Community Development Program, etc. KIASCR has partnered with Colleges, Academicians, Research Scholars, NGO’s and PRI’s for conducting high-quality research, designing and implementing social development, creating awareness and advocating policies that help to improve the standard of living for those that are financially impoverished in these areas. Major Activities: Policy Research on Women, Children and Marginalized ethnic groups Community conservation of Biodiversity Sustainable Rural Agriculture and Innovative Rural Technology Community Health Gender and Civil Rights Protection Education Food Security and Livelihood Protection Human-Animal Conflict Resolution and Wild Life Protection Project Area: Kalitala, Hingalganj, Dist- 24 Parganas (N), Sundarbans, West Bengal (India) Buxa Tiger Reserve (West), Foskadanga, Alipurduar I, Dist- Jalpaiguri, West Bengal (India) Target Groups: Rabha Tribe of BTR (West), Tea Tribes, SHG’s, etc of Doors’ Marginalized SC/ST/OBC Communities of Sundarbans.
