Ø Objectives The main objective of the Society is to take technological and community based initiatives for conservation and generation of sustainable livelihood in the rural areas. The society aims for sustainable integrated rural development through managing natural resources like land, water, livestock and vegetation by implementing Natural Resource Management projects and other community based development programmes like Health Care, Literacy, Hygiene, and Environment etc. for uplift of their standard of living. Ø Activities The Rural Environment Development Society has taken up several projects in the rural areas of Sagar and Ratlam district. The activities done by the society are mentioned below: - 1. Water Sector: Watershed Development, Water Survey, Water exploration, Water Management, Water Quality Analysis, Awareness generation on water pollution, Water conservation, Roof Water Harvesting, Rain water Harvesting, Construction of Dams, Construction of Tanks, Water supply Schemes 2. Environment Sector : Plantation, Grassland Development, Silvipasture Activity, Solid Waste management, Water and Air pollution testing analysis, Environment Conservation, Environmental Awareness, Environmental Planning, Horticulture development, Global warming, Environment Evaluation and monitoring. 3. Education Sector: Computer Training, Aganwari, School, College 4. Health Sector: Awareness on HIV and AIDS, Awareness on Polio, Awareness on Reproductive Health Care, Awareness to Pregnant women, Awareness to disabled people and depressed people. Training of women for their capacity building. Awareness and training of adolescent girls, Capacity development of Adolescent girl and boys, child health care programme. 5. Natural Resource and Microenterprise development Sector : Self Help Group Formation, Microfinance, Micro enterprise development, Dairy, Piggry, Horticulture production, vegetable production, processing of produce and marketing. Agriculture technology awareness, Organic farming, seed development. 6. Consultancies: Consultancy provide for preparation of detailed project for Solid waste management, Dairy Project, Processing of fruits and vegetables, City development planning, Natural resource management. 7. Evaluation and Monitoring: Evaluation and Monitoring of Watershed Programme, Evaluation and Monitoring of Forest Development Activity, Evaluation and monitoring of Natural resource development field. Achievements: (i) Watershed-Implemented three milli watershed project 2 in Sagar Distt. One in Ratlam Distt. Developed 18 village under these projects (ii) Roof Water Harvesting- Constructed 89 Structure in Sagar and Damoh District (iii) CLEAN India Project: Network partner 7 school and there children. Awareness generated in public through student regarding pollution and environment after testing water and air. (iv) Evaluation and Monitoring: Nodal agency for monitoring and evaluation from Ministry of Environment and forests Govt. of India. Evaluation and monitoring done in Arunachal, Manipur, Assam And Gujrat state. (v) Solid Waste management: Door to door Collection in 7 Colonies from 200houses. Prepared report on Solid Waste management of 10 Urban local Govt. of M.P.(vi) SGSY: 2Detailed project report prepared for food processing in Sagar and Ratlam Distt. (vii) Housing- Prepared IHSDP report of Shahgarh (viii) NREGS: Covered 8 Blocks and 30000 beneficiary under this programme in Sagar and Ratlam Distt.
