Major Activities and Achivements

Aama Odisha was originally set up for promotion of Odia language and culture to reestablish unity among people of odisha. However, it has branched out into various other activities over the past 14 years. Aama Odisha is now the leader in organising voluntary blood donation camps all over Odisha.It had organised a total number of 474 camps in 2009 collecting 25273 units of blood.Aama Odisha is a leading publisher of Odia books. It publishes a monthly digest "Paurusha" which is made available to the readers at a very reasonable price. It organises Odia language proficiency and hand-writing tests among school students of Odisha. More than 60000 students participated in this test in more than 2200 schools on 26th september 2010. It organises Youth Meets to inculcate in them love for Odia language and culture and a commitment to serve the people of the state by participating in Blood donation camps in large numbers. Young achievers are felicitated. Aama Odisha also organises state-wide awareness campaigns through marathons/ rallies. It has recently launched a special programme to involve elderly people over 60 in various programmes for upliftment of Odisha.
