AchieveMents: Cultural Academy started its function since last 30 years. As an organization committed to the empowerment, safety and security of women and children, cultural academy strives to seek more effective means to transform and inspire progress in the lives it touches. Cultural academy has been involved in the rehabilitation and reintegration programs since the last 25 years and now has been running two institutions Nirbhaya and Shantibhavan. We provide scientific and systematic rehabilitation to the residents. Ujjawala – A program that gives care and support, shelter for women and children who are the victim of domestic violence ,sexual abuse trafficking and other women and children who are in dangerous and difficult situation. We have wide network with various cross sections of society ie government departments, Police departments, Lawyers forum, Universities, colleges, religious groups, women activists groups. Cultural academy functions as a resource centre , where the documents on different governments schemes are available .We help various organization in policy making ie Gender policy, NGO policy, NGO government collaboration policy, policy amendment in children policy, women empowerment policy. Cultural academy rescued and rehabilitated a large number of women and child victims. We successfully sensitized and trained several government and non government officials on gender and women empowerment. Government refers many NGO’s to cultural academy for giving guidance and support and various occasions. We were able to make a considerable change in the life of inhabitance at Vypeen Island. We also formed 20 daycare centres in the Vypeen Panchayat various activities for children, lead to the formation of children’s club in the village. Road mapping and participatory rural appraisal was conducted successfully in Vypeen. We also published a book, ”Vypeen society transforming in to a vibrant community”, regarding the whole SPED project. We developed national and international linkages with several groups. Periodically we are doing the monitoring and evaluation of the projects. Cultural academy from its date of inception has been engaged in giving training and empowerment programs to different sections of in the society. The training department provides training in women empowerment, Gender sensitization, Legal literacy, human rights trainings, effective communication, Masculinity, Counseling, Mediation Trainings have been imparted to police officials, other NGO’s, Womens organization, men from various sectors like Advocates, Doctors, Students, Religious leaders , Teachers, Businessmen ,Academic institutions of different social organizations schools and college students. Cultural academy has a professional team of experts who have been rendering their services along with the management of the organization. They are legal Advisors, Counselors, Clinical psychologist, gender experts, community development experts, policy experts, training experts, trained experienced social workers, and communication personnel’s. We have a separate documentation and account section with professionally qualified accounts team. We qualified ourselves as a pioneer organization for giving professional and qualitative services to the target group - women and children.
