Jammu and Kashmir NSWA is a volunteer movement committed to promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. In solidarity with non violent peoples struggles, AID supports grassroots organizations in India and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as education, livelihoods, natural resources, health, womens empowerment and social justice. The founder, chairman NSWA, Sadaket Malik, was moved by the plight of the rural poor and innocent people and decided to establish an Organisation which supports all spheres of Rural life and empowers rural community.NSWA came in to existence primarily in 1996 as SWAB Students Welfare Association Bhalessa at Bhalessa Doda, Jammu & Kashmir. The SWAB was designated as NSWA as a National level voluntary moment for the cause of mutual concept and educational popularization. The NSWA organizes series of mass cultivation programmes in the field of education, health, environment, sports, cultural preservation and vocational training. The NGO has its Registered Hq at Soti Bhalessa in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir and has a National Head Office at Jammu. Besides this the NGO has chapters in every district of Jammu region and Regional unit at Srinager also. It is an Indian NGO for Social Services, Indian Child Welfare Services, and Welfare for the Rural Indian Woman, Rural Education and Self Employment. An organization committed to the overall development of rural India. NSWA exposes youth to the myriad development challenges that India faces today. It has a National Youth campaigns, programmes, honours, policies for youth empowerment. NSWAs Mission is to create opportunities of gainful selfemployment for the rural families, especially disadvantaged sections, ensuring sustainable livelihood, enriched environment, improved quality of life and good human values. This is being achieved through development research, effective use of local resources, extension of appropriate technologies and upgradation of skills and capabilities with community participation. Major Sectors Peace Mission Education Mission Vocational Training Health Mission Cultural Promotion Social Welfare Rural Development Sports Environment Children Peace Mission Peace Mission is an indispensible part of the model of this organization with a view to promote friendship and cooperation between the varying communities of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is known world wide, that state of Jammu and Kashmir is sensitive over the peace and brotherhood. The prevailing turmoil created disunity and disharmony among the varying communities. NSWA act as a catalyst to bridge the gap between varying communities inhibiting in rural most parts of Jammu region. The NGO is organizing seminars and programmes, maga events, peace rallies in the interiors of the state to stem the rot on frequent basis. The peace mission of this organization has been galvanized by the local masses, officers, peoples and orgnaistions at large. The NGOs historic peace rallies in militancy infested area of Bhalessa has not only awakened the youth towards higher objectives but has changed the mondset of the people towards the higher objectives. The Educational camps and seminars on the part of association has contributed a large for the mutual concept and higher educational objects. The peace mission is and will remain a Top venture Programme of this organization. At this juncture, the NGO has collaboration with National Foundation for communal harmony under Union Home Ministry for furtherance of its programme of amity and harmony in the interior areas of the state. Moreover, NSWA has collaboration with Asia Peace Foundation Association of people of Asia headed by the then Didi Nirmalla Deshpande as ill luck would have it; she did not remained among us.
