Major Activities and Achivements

Details of Acheivements The Aluva branch aiwc has completed forty years in the period of social work. Our aim is to promote education for poor girls and welfare of women and children. KGT Tailoring a vocational training course for a period of two years was one of our major project under the technical education Department of Kerala. Reasontly the KGT Couse is converted as Fashion Designing and Garment Technology(FDGT). Classes for jewellery making craft, flower making, glass painting, nib painting, embroidary, Fabric paints, screen printing etc are also functioning properly. An A grade library is functioning at our branch on receiving a grant from the State Library Council. Everey month we are supplying a kit containing rice, oil, soap, tea, sugar etc. to 15 old and deserving women. On 15/09/2012 we have succesfully completed the Intergrated Literacy and Skill Development Programe (1 Year) of AIWC, Delhi. There were 30 women (Housewives) underskill training and 21 girls under supportive education. All types of tailoring works embroidary, paintings, Craft works, Jewellery making etc. were taught to these 30 womens. The 21 school going girls get opportunity to support for their education and prepare for the examination to score good marks. There were awareness classes on different subjects to both women and girls. Computer course is a new venture of of our institution. An old age home PAKALVEED a programe of AIWC Delhi has started on september 2012. We are conducting medical camp and awareness classes every year. On 16/10/2012, there was a medical camp for checking anemia, thyroid with the help of Taluk Hospital, Aluva. Under the management of our Institution 6 creches are functioning at rural and urban area with the aid of Kerala State Social Welfare Board. Children are given nutircious food everyday.Periodical check up is arranged and first aid Medicines are available at all the six creche units.
