AchieveMents: In an attempt to rehabilitate the destitute victims of erosion of mighty river Brahmaputra, Barkhetri Unnayan Samity emerged in 1975 with a dedication to create job opportunities out of indigenous resources under the apposite leadership of Sri Sarbeswar Medhi, Sri Sishupal Medhi, Sri Umesh Chandra Medhi and a few other kind hearted personalities. Major Activities : 1. Khadi spinning and weaving 2. Village Industries activity 3. Marketing 4. Training for rural youth 5. Entrepreneurship Scheme 6. Woman empowerment Achievements : 1. Obtain ISO certificate from BIS, Silk Mark certificate from Central Silk Board, Khadi Mark from KVIC and FSSAI License for quality food product. 2. Received National Award from Ministry of MSME as best Khadi institution from N.E. 3. Artisan received National Award from MSME, Govt of India as best Khadi Artisan from NE Zone.
