AchieveMents: 1.DART organized a free orthopedic camp and health check up in January 2007.
2.DART also organized a walkathon on March 2nd which saw the active participation of over hundred people including families of children affected by Muscular Dystrophy.
3.DART set up a research facility with capable of handling in vitro work.
4.RS Anand went on AIR on Red FM 93.5 Bangalore and talked about the history of DART and the impact of Muscular Dystrophy.
5.DART staff, families and well wishers took part in the Kochi Marathon The highlight of the day was to sharing the stage with Malayalam super star Mohanlal.
6.DART members, children and many of our friends took part in a fascinating Nature Walk along Chennaiââ¬â¢s scenic coast. We were thrilled to spot many beautiful and even endangered flora and fauna and in the process raise awareness of DART among nature lovers.
7.Chief Scientific Officer Dr.Arun Shastry travelled to Murdoch University to train in the latest Exon Skipping technology under the experts there.
8.DART organized a health check up and awareness camp in Tirupur,Tamil Nadu. Many families brought their affected children and were made aware of recent advancements. The parents were also given a thorough session on proper physiotherapy. 9.Members of DART participated in the Indo-Global Healthcare Summit & Expo 2014 organized by the Indus Foundation.
10.DART inaugurated a world class research facility in Bangalore on July 27th and were supported by eminent scientists from around the world.Dr. Vishwanath (Kanchi Kamakotti Trust, Chennai), Dr. Steve Wilton (Director Western Australia Neuroscience Research Institute), DART founding President RS Anand, DART CSO Dr.Arun Shastry and DART patron Hitesh Chowhan. 11.Since 2014 September 7th is being celebrated as World Duchenne Awareness Day. The 7th day of the 9th month has been chosen to represent the 79 exons in the dystrophin gene. Duchenne charities around the world raise awareness for children and young adults living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The central theme is balloons. People around the world release balloons to mark the day.
12.In November 2015 DART was invited to be part of the First International Conference on Pediatric Rare Diseases.
13.February 9th - 1th DART was present at the Bangalore Bio event conducted by the Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, Vision Group on Biotechnology and MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications.
14.On March 27th Dr. Arun Shastry went on air on Kochi 94.3 fm station to do an interview with RJ Rafi about Muscular Dystrophy. Many listeners supported our cause by giving in their donations and wishes.
15.Berty Ashley went on air on Chennai Live 104.8 fm for a 2 hour call in and discussion with RJ Sandeep John about Muscular Dystrophy and its research. There was quite a reach and our crowd funding campaign got a major boost.
16.In March 2016 the artwork of the children of DART was exhibited at the Blue Ribbon Art Exhibition and Film Festival.
