AchieveMents: The Ganesa Natyalaya was founded by Guru Saroja Vaidyanthan (Padma Bhushan Awardee) a renowned exponent of Bharatanatyam in 1974 for propagation of cultural education and knowledge specially in Bharatantyam one of the classical dances of India. The Natyalaya established its own school building, the land allotted by the Govt of India in south Delhi, in 1988. The Foundation Stone laid by Shri Jagmohan former Lt.Governor of Delhi and building inaugurated by the Honble Shri S.D.Sharma the former Vice President of India and since then has steadily expanded the activities. Today, the Natyalaya can proudly state that over 265 students have successfully completed their Diploma course many of whom have spread within the country and overseas and set up their own schools. The institution has produced a number of Dance Dramas on mythology, social and contemporary issues like Women Empowerment, Drugs and Aids, Enviornment, Drugs and Aids and Swachh Bharat etc. President Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan authored four art books, Science of Bharatanatyam, Carnatic Music, Bharatantyam An Indepth Study and Classical Dances of India. Natyalaya organizing annual day functions where all the students participates to show there one year course and the opportunities are given to individual and group presentations in various festivals and programms within the country and abroad to the deserving dancers. President, Guru Saroja conducts lecdems and workshops under schools, colleges and cultural organisations periodically to propagate this art form. The institution has affiliated with the Khairagarh University in Chattisgarh. The Natyalaya is recognized by the Govt. of India and its various departments. Many foreign students are joining at Natyalaya as scholarship holders under the cultural exchange programmes by ICCR. Natyalaya students presented dance recitals for Queens Baton Rely 2010, Common Wealth Games Opening Ceremony in 2010, Ruby Jubilee of Ganesa Natyalaya in 2014 and World Cultural Festival in 2016.
