AchieveMents: IEEE has been working world wide to advance technology for humanity for over 130 years. India provides huge opportunities for IEEE since the country is in the phase of rapid growth and has well integrated into global innovation value chain. India’s vast education system produces millions of graduates in Science and Engineering disciplines. Indian companies work round the clock to develop IT solutions. Indian government is rapidly adopting technology to improve the quality of life for its people. IEEE in India has been active since 1976 and has 11 sections and 5 subsections and several hundred student chapters. India also has a country council. IEEE India office as subsidiary started in Sep 2010. However, started functioning since June 2011. India office is focusing on Standards and Education, besides that provides support for digital library, Computer Society, MGA and software development. India office looks into business opportunities for various functions of IEEE in India. GIEEE India office also plays a key-roll in compliance with local laws of conducting IEEE activities in India.
