AchieveMents: Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust was founded in the year 1992 by the eminent Industrialist and Philanthropist, Shri T.S.R Khannaiyann. The Trust is being managed by the Secretary, Smt. Sarasuwathi Khannaiyann, Joint Secretary Smt. Priya Satish Prabu and Trustee Shri.K.Sakthivel Raja. Since its inception the Trust has involved itself in benevolent activities for inculcating quality education by promoting various types of Educational Institutions.
Hindusthan College of Arts & Science pursues a philosophy of perpetual acquisition of knowledge. Apart from academic curriculum, equally important is the policy to provide value based education and to bring out the hidden potential in students that equip them to approach life with optimism. The main motive of the Hindusthan Trust is to serve the needy. The Trust adopts poor children and offers free education. It also offers assistance and guidance pertaining to higher studies. The Trust also helps them to earn a living. The Trust motivates the rankholders and toppers by providing financial assistance.
Started in the year 1998 with 300 students and 4 departments with 20 faculty members, the college has grown from strength to strength. Now the college has 18 UG Programmes and 13 PG Programmes and 13 Research Programmes. The reason for its success in such a short time is the excellent location of the college, its proximity to the railway station, the bus stand and the airport. Moreover, the college has earned a sound reputation for producing 100 percent results in most of its programmes and 100 percent placements for the students. In a short span of 14 years, the college has been able to produce several rank holders including 1st rank at the Bharathiar University. The College places its emphasis on Academic excellence which is the main aim of the dedicated staff and students. Every year the college strives to achieve maximum number of university ranks. The Visual Communication programme offered by HICAS is crowned to be ââ¬Å The Best ââ¬Å among all colleges in Western Region by the Media. The NSS Volunteers work in close association with the various social organizations serving the society. The Youth Red Cross is actively engaged in blood donation programmes and various other social services for the up-liftment of the downtrodden. National Level Seminars like EXEMPLAR, CLUSTERS, HIFEAST, BIMBAM, BIO-SUMMIT, INFO-ICONS, ASTOUND, HI-COM, etc. are some of the frequent academic activities conducted to enhance the knowledge of the students. Inter Collegiate Programmes like HILARICAS is conducted every year to encourage the students in activities other than academics. Over 100 colleges across the state and other states used to participate and win prizes upto one lakh.
