Institute for Developmental Education and Action Key Issues and Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements

AchieveMents: Our Organization is working for well being of suffering humanity particularly children, Dalit and women through Education, Health and Economic empowerment. We are giving more focus on children up to 6 months to 3 years through nutrition intervention. Socially excluded communities- IDEA is targeting 6 Months to 3 Years malnourish children and their mothers under the Project “Action Against Malnutrition (AAM)” funded by Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT). Intervention under this project are crèche for 6 Months to 3 years children of scheduled caste women, system strengthening of VHSND, ANM, Anganwadi, ASHA workers, primary health centers, nutrition & re habitation center (NRC) and ICDS. Organization is also working to capacitate mother of these children by having the participatory learning and action (PLA) with them in order to enable them to access their rights and entitlements. We are also working for abolition of child labor, bounded labor, forced labor and human trafficking a part from this we are also working for leprosy control in East and West Champaran District. We are working as sub center organization in child line program in East Champaran District. We are also working in adolescents’ development through peer education and patricianly learning. Leprosy affected people- Under this project leprosy affected people are located and identified for next level of intervention. These people are first provided the medical intervention for their cure and treatment. They are provided the livelihood support to lead their life with dignity. Apart from this, they are linked to the social security scheme i.e. pension which is added benefit for their life situations. Damein Foundation India Trust Belgium (DFIT) is supporting this project. Socially excluded communities- Under this project, we focus on women, adolescents and children of scheduled caste and minority communities. Organization equally focuses on livelihood promotion of these women to come out of the poverty situations. Not only this but also these communities are linked to their rights and entitlements together with these components. Adolescent reproductive health is also being promoted. Mother and child health is also in the projects focus. Communities are motivated and encouraged to practice personal and community hygiene. School going children between 6-14 years are provided additional teaching and learning support to improve upon their academic performance. Special school centers are there to provide the education and stitching skill to the adolescent girls and boys and later they are mainstreamed to formal schools. This project is supported by Geneva Global, Inc. USA. And Angan Trust, Mumbai. We are also working for abolition of child labor, bounded labor, forced labor through formation of SHG Non formal education centers for child labour, micro credit counseling support for survivors, skill training to the parents of survivor to start their livelihood generation. We are forming community to check human trafcking and we are linking these groups with Bihar Rural livelihood project. PM Jan Dhan Youjana, PM Bima Yojana, Atal Pention youjana to strengthen to the community.
