AchieveMents: Jammu and Kashmir Women Society is a Non -Political, Non -Commercial, Social and Charitable Organisation working for the welfare of needy women & children since 1991 though Regd. during march/95. ACTIVITIES Income Generating programmes The organisation organised income generating & vocational development training programmes in the field of Fabrication of Readymade garments, Machine Embroidery, Kashmiri Embroidery , patch work, Block printing, making of Soap, School FVTBags, Bamboo Craft, Jam, Pickle , Papper , baddi making and hand made sawinya . Seminars/ Workshops & Awareness programes .The organisation organised state level seminars/Work shops on impact of land mine on .//.women, Voilence against women, Women Empowerment , Crime against women, workshop ....on communal harmony and awareness camps on General.Awareness, legal Awareness, ....Rights.of girl child,.Aids.Awareness, Civil Defence training .for.women, Adolescent Girls ....Training, Signature campaign on save the girl child. Health programmes Eye check up/ Operation camps, Health check up, Anemia check up and Pulse Polio camps, ........Health.and Nutirition and Total child health care programme. Education programmes Organisation conducted literacy and skill development training programmes for .women, Street ......children programmes , Pre-schooling centres, Non- formal education,.Free tution centres for ......children and Creches programme. Distuributed ration and blankets to flood effected families in relief camps. Provided education assistance to girl students for higher education i.e.B.C.A, M.C.A,M.B.A , B.ED. Etc. The girls have now completed their education. A number of women who were imparted income generating and skill development training are .....earning their livelihood. A number of Women approched Family Counselling Centre run by the organisation to solve their ....family disputes. Most of these cases were settled through counselling. A few most deserving cases who approached the Family Counselling Centre run by organization ....were brought in to kind notice of Hon. Governor J&K. Hon. Governor was kind enough to ....Sanction Financial Assistance of Rs 50000/-. ....Indian Army conducted State Level Seminar on Women Empowerment in colobration with our ....organization.
