AchieveMents: Kala Kunj, an registered cultural organisation is a dream and vision of Late Guru Ravi Jain and Smt. Nalini Jain, both eminent Kathak artists, started its journey in the year 1980, with an aim to promote classical and semi- classical performing arts. Since its inception, Kala Kunj has organised many stage performances and has had the honor of having personalties as Guests of Honor including eminent writers like Sh. Jainenendra Kumar, Sh. Vishnu Prabharkar, Sh. Rajendra Yadav, Sh. Bhavani Prasad Mishr, Sh. Namvar Singh and Smt. Manu Bhandari. Kala Kunj has also honoured legendary performing artists like Smt. Chaya Devi, Smt. Gulab Bai, Smt. Alaknanda Devi and personalties like Dr. Kiran Bedi, Smt. Kapila Vatsayan, Honourable Justice Mr. Madan B. Lokur, Smt. Aruna Dalmia, who have made commendable contributions in their respective fields. Kala Kunj has also in association with Doordarshan, produced dance dramas on socially relevant issues like Shiv Bhakt Kanappa, Jyoti Pushp, Sant Ravidas – Tum Chandan Hum Paani. The most acclaimed production has been Tum Chandan Hum Paani which has been released by the Doordarshan Archives and is available for purchase in the open market.
