AchieveMents: Major Achievements of MAhila Janjati seawa Samiti Empowering women for better life style A majority of people in India especially women do not have a stable and secure way of making a living which enhance their vulnerability in the society. Through Swayam Siddha, SGSRY, NABARD and Bhoomi projects KSS has organized women particularly those belonging to marginalized Tharu tribe and minority by providing them a platform for capacity building and empowerment. KSS works within 86 villages of Sitarganj block. 2312 women are linked with 220 self help groups that have further federated to a strong self reliant community based organization. The Federation has been registered as an autonomous body under Uttarakhand self reliant cooperative act 2003. All the groups save money regularly, have a bank account and have been able to take bank loans. Through microfinance 456 members of 46 SHGs are associated with livelihood activities. Remaining SHGs are practicing inter loan for their requirement. At present time total saving is Rs. 46,56,540. The members have learn to maintain their register, calculate interest, deposit in the bank and withdraw money and most important to believe in their own capacity. They make plans to improve the living condition of their family. This project has made a remarkable difference in their life. Supporting Sustainable Livelihood Promotion Livelihood is not just about making a living. It is also about having reliable and permanent sources of food, income and employment. It encompasses such things as where and how people live, resource management, agriculture, access to and ownership of land, waged labor and how these are affected by inequality (especially for women) conflict, climate change and other natural disasters. KSS initiated various livelihood support programmers with 139 women groups and around 10,000 beneficiaries have like and trained it backyard poultry , mushroom, Flowery culture, Income Generating Activities, Organic farming, modern Agricultural practices and its management etc. Lands and Rights for Tribal in Uttrakhand India We have organized various workshops, trainings and conducted advocacy programs at different level to empower rural tribes so that they may attain their legal, tribal and land Rights. Bring Hope for Children Mostly out of school children must work in order to assist their families economically or have to take care of younger sibling and house chores while their parents are at work. It is being implemented in 10 villages and Van gujar of Sitarganj block. Focusing the children, adolescent boys and girls in every village. We are establishing a forum which was named as ââ¬ÅBal Adhikar Manchââ¬Â which is a medium to share information on four major aspects environmental conservation, health, education, child rights of survival, protection, development, participation and child labor. A network of adolescent youth and children has been established at Panchayat level to carry out peopleââ¬â¢s campaign to ensure child rights. Environmental Conservation Our life style is constantly degrading our surrounding which causes serious problems. It will enhance day by day thus there is need to contribute the development of healthier environment. Organization has made an effort in this direction by organizing different sanitation campaign on resource management, waste management, air, water and soil pollution etc.With the support of Municipal Corporation, forest department.
