ââ¬Â¢ Directorate of Social Welfare, Assam has sanctioned Anganwadi Workers Training Centre to the Kendra to conduct training programmes to the workers. The course was started from 3rd December 2003. The Kendra has completed 52 batches of job training course for Anganwadi workers, 21 Orientation Training for Helpers and 34 of Refresher course to Workers and 6 refresher training to Helpers upto 2016.
ââ¬Â¢ Counseling cell for the distressed women has been offering service to the women.
ââ¬Â¢ Motherââ¬â¢s meeting was held after every three months to discuss the importance of children education, nutritious food and health education.
ââ¬Â¢ Members of the Kendra joined in pulse-polio programmes twice in the year.
ââ¬Â¢ To generate awareness on health related issues the organization has been organizing health programmes from 2004 onwards by a group of doctors.
ââ¬Â¢ Members of the Kendra organised an awareness programme for keeping Kharghuli clean along with other organisation of the locality.
ââ¬Â¢ The organisation participated health service programmes in the month of March 2005 to the childrdn of weaker section of the society at Lal Singh School of Kharghuli, Guwahati .
ââ¬Â¢ Six Research Projects were submitted by the center to the India Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi which were sanctioned by ICSSR.
ââ¬Â¢ Axom Sarba Siksha Abhijan Mission has approved a reserch study to the organisation on ââ¬Å evaluation of functioning of HTR centers in urban areas with focus on the coverage of working childrenââ¬Â in the year 2007. The project was done by a team of the center under the guidance of Dr. Kanta Chakravarty. The report was submitted to the sponsored organisation ICSSR in 2012.
ââ¬Â¢ A research project on ââ¬Å A study of the conditions of child labourers of Guwahatiââ¬Â was completed by a group of research workers under the guidence of Dr Renu Debi in 2011. It was sponsord by Assam State Commission for the protection of child rights.
WORKSHOP
The Kendra has organized a workshop on ââ¬ÅProspectus and Development of Tourism North East Indiaââ¬Â in the month of February at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra, Panjabari, Guwahati, which was sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.
SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR CHILD LABOUR
The organization has opened four special schools (Gyan Setu Kendra) for Child Labour at Dhirenpara, Ganeshpara, Katahbari and Datalpara of Guwahati under Kamrup Metro District Child Labour Project of National Child Labour scheme.
AWARENESS PROGRAMME
A Socio-legal awareness programme was organized on 26 th December 2008 at Ganeshpara playground of Guwahati for the spread of education among child workers. The meeting was attended by parents/guardians, employers of child labour and teachers and well known citizens of that locality. A street play ââ¬Å Parhim Parhim Aami Kitap Parhimââ¬Â based on educating child labour was also presented by the children of the locality.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY
The organization has been organizing International Womens Day every year on 8th March.
