SIR RATAN TATA TRUST | Overseas | 2013-2014 | 500000 | During the first 6 months of the programme we were able to recruit 26 trainees. However, this slowed down considerably during the next 3 months due to various reasons.
As we had covered much of the area close to Gangol, we now had to reach out to villages 2to5 Kms from there. The cold weather had set in and the women were reluctant to venture out of their homes. Children were home during the winter holidays. So, they invariably promised to join once the kids were back at school during the day.

EMPORT EXPORT BANK OF INDIA | Overseas | 2015-2016 | 1100000 | All the machinery and equipment have been purchased. We encountered a major problem when we discovered that one of our trainers on whom we depended on setting up the center had been dishonest and disloyal. She had lured away some of our trainees to another organization. She might have taken away more prospective trainees as well. We have since dismissed her. New women have joined us. Their number now stands at 22. The women have become adept at making difficult type of bags, Madhubani, etc. |
THE HANS FOUNDATION | Overseas | 2015-2016 | 1000000 | We have never had to face such duplicity before. First we had to put in place a new trainer. Our senior supervisor Sangita came forward to help. As she was originally from the area, she could deal with the women better. She took some of the older trainees to villages around to talk to the women there about the project so that we could recruit more trainees. As these villages were some distance away from the center, we offered to pay them bus fare for commuting to the center. |
