AchieveMents: Ever since its inception,the preservation of the country cultural heritage and promotion of performing arts has been the active concern of the kendra mantains a permanent dance drama group through its variours programmes and stage performance the group has tried to capture and enshine as aesthetically as possible the best from our religion,mythology and folklore and the Ram lila performed over the 2000 nights both in India and abroad has been one of its major achievements
another notable achievements of the kendra of which is justably proud is the revival of the Kathak dance- one of the classical dance styles of North India
The kendra has also contributed to the resuscitation of the Mayurbhanj Chhau style considering research has gone into the performing arts already eleven dance dramas- Jagdev,Konark,Kalinga Vijay Khajurano Yayati Karna Chaitra Parv Kamayani Buddha Mahadev Chakravyuha have been produced in the Chhau style
The kendra college of Music and Dance has trained and built a new generation of performing artists who has sucessfully combined creative talent and traditional skills with contemporary awareness over the years
The Kendra teaching faculty has been served over the years by such eminent artists as Moinuddin Khan Aminuddin Khan dagar Musshtaq Hussian Khan Hafiz Ali Khan Vilayat Hussian Khan Dalip Chandra Bedi Siddeshwari Devi etc all for Hindustani Classical music Shambhu Maharaj Sunder Prasad Birju Maharaj Durga Lal and Ram Mohan Maharaj for Kathak Dance Dev Prashad Dass for Odissi dance and krishna Chandra Naayak for Mayurbhanj Chhau.
The annual activity of the Kendra includes College Music and Dance Ballet Festival like Meera Shree Durga Karna Abhimanyu etc and annual function like Ram Krishna Sumitra Charat Ram Award for Life time Achievement Dance and music festival Shriram Shankarlal Music Festival and we also perform shows in India and abroad.
