AchieveMents: The two Rajiv Gandhi National Crèches sponsored by the central social welfare board are being run by the Avinashlilgam Education Trust  Creche - I Kathirnaickenpalayam  Creche – II Avinashilingam ‘ B’ colony, Alagesam Road, Coimbatore. The activities carried out during the period 2015-2016 were: Every week, the students of I M.Sc. Human Development take some theme based classes for the children using various activities in the theme of birds, animals, fruits, kitchen equipments, etc by using different visual and auditory teaching aids that were prepared by them .All the teaching materials prepared for this purpose were given to the crèche for further use by the teacher of the crèche  Independence Day was celebrated with flag hoisting and cultural programmers of various states of India.  I M.Sc. Human development student have contributed low cost handmade toys and bags for crèches children.  Coloring competition was conducted for the children during September-2015 .All children were given prizes.  Breast feeding week celebration was carried out during the Ist week of August, 2015. All the parents were participated.  The swatch Bharat day was celebrated through cleaning drives by the students of I M.Sc. Human Development in the month of October.  A team of UNICEF members visited our Crèche II as a part of SMART SURVEY UNDER CMAM Initiative in tribal “Attapatty” Kerala to have “Hands on training in measurement of nutritional anthropometry (Height, Weight and clinical symptoms of Oedema. Incentives like play materials and tiffin boxes were given to infants and mothers of the Creche.  Anganwadi workers (state govt.) also visited crèches on October Ist 2015 for enriching themselves.  Demonstration of Jam and Pickle preparation had been showed by the students of I M.Sc Food Science and Nutrition for the mothers of Crèche Children  Sports day was conducted with competitions like musical chair, running race, Frog jump and picking the sweets .Competitions on singing, Storytelling alphabet and number recitation were also held.  Monthly health checkup was carried out for children by doctors for nearby Primary Health Center.  Parents Meeting were conducted addressing issues of Children.  Noon meals were provided to the children.
