AchieveMents: 1.The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Bengaluru, India.
2.Our organization strives to fight issues like hunger and malnutrition in India, by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the government schools and government-aided schools in partnership with State Governments, which provides support in the form of Free Grain Grant and cash conversion cost on per meal basis.
3.Since 2001, the organization has worked towards reaching more children with wholesome food on every single school day, with a small beginning of 1500 children
4.Today Akshaya Patra is the worldââ¬â¢s largest (not-for-profit run) mid-day meal programme serving wholesome food to around 1.6 million children from 13,529 schools across 11 states in India.
5.With the vision of ââ¬ÅNo child in India shall be deprived of education because of hungerââ¬Â, the foundation aims to reach out to 5 million children by 2020. Pioneering a technology-driven operating model, this programme has been a success in terms of its reach-out, scalability and replicability.
6.Eleven of Akshaya Patraââ¬â¢s kitchens have been ISO 22000:2005 certified which ensures highest level of cleanliness and hygiene standards.
7.Akshaya Patra is continuously leveraging technology to cater to millions of children. Its state-of-the-art kitchens have become a subject of study and they attract curious visitors from around the world.
8.Akhaya Patra has won many awards & accolades as per below :
i. ICAI Gold Shield Award for the 5th consecutive year for excellence in Financial Reporting
ii. Akshaya Patra enters ICAIââ¬â¢s prestigious ââ¬ËHall of Fameââ¬â¢, the only NGO until now.
