The project activities continued in 2018-19 and funds were sanctioned for preparation of the report and digital stories which set out the findings. The activities also include organizing a conference and an art exhibition to create awareness about the global refugee crisis.

This initiative provides a transformative space for Afghan refugee women (registered with UNHCR) to use their skills in traditional embroidery, not only to secure a sustainable livelihood but also to preserve their cultural identity and use art as an effective medium to forge a bond with the host population.

AchieveMents: Ara is the first organisation in the South Asia to have a Letter of Understanding with UNHCR which introduced the concept of legal representation in the asylum process. This institutionalized the right of every refugee to have legal counsel in the process. Since inception, Ara has provided direct legal assistance to nearly two thousand forced migrants. This model has been recognized by UNHCR as a best practice for replication in its other operations
